Coney Update-o-Rama

The city purchased Coney Island's B & B Carousell for $1.8 million in 2005, saving it from being sold at auction. Now it's time to find an operator for the carousel's next phase: the city has issued a request for proposals to get the carousel running again at the Steeplechase Plaza. Want to get a sense of the moneymaking potential of this? The Central Park Carousel, used as a comparison in the RFP, raked in $188,123 in 2009. Responses to the RFP are due January 17. [AtZ]
