Brooklyn Bridge Park issued an RFP in August for developers for Pier 5's "winter bubble," an enclosed recreational facility that would house a soccer field. But the park received no bids for that particular part of the project, and it's not going forward. Kelco Construction will be responsible for the turf fields, promenade, playground, and barbecue station on the pier?and there on't be any room left for the winter bubble. Bubble fans blame park officials for setting "unfeasible" requirements for developers. [BK Paper]
