A Revamped but Cramped Two-Bed Across from Prospect Park

New, 13 comments

Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Have a nomination? Send it to the tipline.

When this apartment at 103 Prospect Park West was last listed, back in 2005 for $525K, it was described in the brokerbabble as a "'feel good' 2 bedroom, 2 bath duplex facing Prospect Park." Now, five years and one serious renovation later, the place has been heaved back on the market for $665K and it's still described as a "feel good" pad. We're loving the updated kitchen, preserved original woodwork, and park-front location, but it's hard to feel good about walking up to the fourth floor, then walking up again to go to bed. Plus, the space is a little cramped considering the price, and the maintenance has gone up by $219 per month since '05, calling the building financials into question. Looks like beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all.
