Danish architect Bjarke Ingels got his first taste of local NYC politics last night, as he brought his pyramid road show to Community Board 4's land use committee. It was suggested that some of that Copenhagen-style courtyard action in the proposed tower be open to the public, and that the 140 or so "affordable" apartments in the 700-unit rental tower be made permanently affordable. The Hell's Kitchen locals were promised that Costco and Walmart will not be taking retail space (Amish Market was shown in the renderings), and the International Center of Photography will likely move in.
