The day after NYT architecture critic Nicolai Ouroussoff anointed Frank Gehry's Beekman Tower the best new NYC skyscraper since the '60s, Bloomberg News critic James Russell shares his thoughts on the building. He likes it! Maybe not as much as Ouroussoff, but he writes, "Gehry has produced a gawky beauty that captures the open-ended energy of the city. It fascinates rather than ravishes." There are (tiny!) pictures inside a model apartment, and Russell adds that leasing begins this month, but the top floors won't be ready until 2012. Rents will start at $2,600. [Bloomberg; previously]
