Rockefellers Sell Upper East Side Townhouse at a Discount

New, 1 comment

Back in December, Mark and Renee Rockefeller (of the Rockefellers) closed on their $10 million purchase of William F. Buckley's Park Avenue maisonette. Since they presumably lived somewhere before, that left one surplus Rockefeller residence. But no longer! Real Estate Weekly reports that an LLC linked to the Rockefellers has sold a townhouse at 13 East 94th Street for $12.5 million. (The couple paid $10.8 million for it in 2005.) Enough to cover the cost of their latest purchase (and maybe a little redecoration), but a far cry from what they'd hoped to get. The 94th Street house was originally priced at $18.5 million in 2008 and at $15.5 million last summer. The buyers, George and Nitzia Logothetis, will be getting a 7,500-square-foot house with wine vault. Drink enough, maybe the animal heads start to talk!
