Approximately five seconds after demolition was scheduled for the old Bowery house at 35 Cooper Square, the Department of Buildings slapped a stop-work order on the building. The site apparently failed to "safeguard public and property," and reading between the lines, Runnin' Scared speculates that someone climbed from the Cooper Square Hotel bar into the construction site.
