Mayor Bloomberg wants to fire 6,000 teachers due to budget cutbacks but he has no problem handing Governors Island $150 million for some new hammocks. Part of that dream will become a reality by 2013, DNAinfo reports, including the Hammock Grove (above) and a pair of sports fields.
