Music Honcho Lyor Cohen's UES Mansion Returns to Market

New, 12 comments

Warner Brothers Music chairman and wise elder of hip-hop Lyor Cohen put his own modern twist on 1 East 94th Street, the 25-foot-wide limestone Carnegie Hill townhouse he purchased for $9.175 million in 1999. It was a renovation that he believed justified a $28 million price tag when he first put it on the market last year. And Lyor Cohen is a man who sticks by his convictions! After a hiatus from the market, the six-bedroom home (which architect Cass Gilbert also once occupied and renovated) is back up for sale at the same price. Did the 10-year townhouse numbers give Cohen a fresh jolt of confidence? The only change to the new listing: the photos are bigger and better this time around.
