Salvaging And Designing in Morningside Heights

New, 4 comments

Masuo Ichida lives in a 450 square foot one bedroom in Morningside Heights, but what the apartment is lacking in space it makes up for in design wit and creativity. Instead of doors he uses orange fabric which combined with things like his swords, Shinto shrine and Japanese flag contribute to a really bold living environment. In addition he's got "floor-to-ceiling plywood shelves that cover an entire wall and hold nearly 25,000 late-20th-century American prints" so he's pretty much using every single square foot to it's potential. Working with what you got, we love it!
