The new property manager at Stuyvesant Town/Peter Cooper Village has begun the process of scrubbing away the Tishman Speyer era. First step: Get rid of all those new trees and bushes! Tishman Speyer launched a huge landscaping effort to better the property's image, but residents complained that all the plantings provided hiding spots for thieves and rapists. It may be a bit of a stretch, but the Journal writes, "The episode with the trees shows how Stuyvesant Town's politically powerful tenants present a challenge for the loan servicer that now controls the property."
