Spring Arrives at Bergdorf; End of a Barneys Era?; More!

And now, the latest from Racked NY, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) Times Square: The incredibly tall and slightly frightening American Eagle advertecture/video screen that wraps its newish Times Square superstore will display winning entries from a design contest or something. Basically this is just an excuse to remind you that the legendary Howard Johnson's restaurant used to be on this spot.

2) Midtown East: As sure a sign of spring as ramps on restaurant menus and the reopening of the Frying Pan: new Bergdorf Goodman windows! Spring's theme appears to be things on wheels.

3) Chelsea: Could the epic Barneys Warehouse Sale be going away forever? Alas, dear reader, it could.
