Mystery London Family Buys Third Apartment in 40 Bond

New, 3 comments

Some people just have all the luck. And (almost) all the units in Noho's 40 Bond. We recently heard about and were instantly jealous of a mystery London family that had purchased two 40 Bond units, a 2,400-square-foot second home and a 1,100-square-foot pied-a-terre for that pied-a-terre. Now that has a pied-a-terre, the 2,076-square-foot #9B. The Observer reports that the same LLC behind one of the other purchases spent $5,632,000 on its latest 2BR, 2.5BA, with what we assume was an insider's discount from the $6.5 million list price. If the family's second unit was a place to escape to and host guests, what's this one for? Maybe it's a form of architecture patronage. But whatever Robert Couturier might do to the place, it still won't have a lawn.
