UWS Duane Reade Has Beer Counter; Soho Store Wants Art Scene

New, 1 comment

And now, the latest from Racked NY, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) Soho: Agnès Troublé first opened a Soho store in 1980, drawn to Prince Street by the art scene. Times have changed, so at her new store, Troublé will exhibit works by her artist friends to make sure indie artwork lives on in Soho.

2) UWS: It's not only in Williamsburg that the Duane Reades have beer counters. The new Duane Reade at Broadway and 72nd Street, next to Trader Joe's, has one too. Perfect for all those residents of The Corner!

3) Flatiron: Clothing/housewares store Marimekko will be opening a flagship store in the Flatiron District's Toy Building, which is also home to Eataly. Japanese architectural firm IMA, the folks who designed Marimekko's Helsinki flagship, will be back on the job for this store.
