Manhattan's Rental Market Doesn't Think It's Spring Either

New, 1 comment

After a run of decent news at the start of 2011, the rental market is now looking more like winter than it usually does at this time of year. (There's a lot of that going around, isn't there?) Prices rose only 0.45 percent between February and March, according to the latest rental market report from TREGNY. The one sector in which that's not the case? Studios. Inventory is down 4.29 percent?maybe folks are giving up their recession roomies??and prices are up 2.35 percent. TREGNY's advice: go back to two-bedrooms on the UES, UWS, and Lower East Side, and rent before optimistic landlords up their prices for the summer. Hey, we're still waiting for spring.
