Its hoped-for spring 2010 completion date came and went, and since then we've heard little from the infamous Finger Building of North 8th Street. But a finger building never stays quiet for long, and this one has been making noise for the last few days. Brownstoner spotted one sudden sign of life: the construction netting is down from the 144 North 8th Street structure. What's next? A new name! The project has already been renamed once, as The Albero, which is Italian for tree. But developer GFI tells Crain's the name of the building, going on the market through Corcoran, will soon change again. What's Italian for finger?
