It Took 5,000 Subway Rides to Make This Bench

New, 1 comment

Everyone's been trying to reinvent the bench, but no one's done it so in tune with the feelings of Mother Earth! Curbed National brings us this seating apparatus made from 5,000 discarded MetroCards, which is the type of recycling we can really get behind (enough with this sorting the paper and plastic stuff). How long did it take the bench's creator, Steve Shaheen, to collect all the MetroCards? Less than one week. It's not for sale, but if it was, would the fares paid for by all those swipes be factored into the price?
