The foreclosure auction of 160 East 22nd Street, the tenement-gobbling Fortress of Solitude, did not go forward as planned yesterday. Instead, developer Kaish & Taub filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to stop the foreclosure, and it has a buyer interested in purchasing the land for $27.5 million. We'll be curious to see what happens to the site next, but honestly, it's already given us far more in crazy renderings than we could have hoped. [WSJ]
