54 Bond Street's Tripex Penthouse Sells for $13.5 Million

New, 1 comment

After months of celebrity rumors, the penthouse at 54 Bond Street went into contract late in January. The buyer was quickly unmasked as non-famous Belgian entrepreneur/technology consultant Rob Heyvaert. A non-famous Belgian entrepreneur/technology consultant with pretty good negotiating skills, apparently: public records reveal that Heyvaert paid $13,491,812 for the apartment, which was originally listed for $16.5 million and was most recently asking $14.45 million. The third and fourth floors of the building recently sold for a total of $8.715 million. Add in the $5.5 million sale of the retail condo, and developer Adam Gordon netted a bit more than $27.7 million from all of the 54 Bond sales. He paid $15 million for the old Bouwerie Lane Theater building in 2007, before doing a thorough revamp, so we're guessing he'll still take something home. While Heyvaert moves in, we'll be weeping into our penthouse photo galleries.
