As promised, the top two floors of the unlandmarked western wing of the Williamsburgh Savings Bank building at 175 Broadway in Brooklyn are being dismantled. The neighborhood is still in the dark over the future of the 135-year-old Williamsburg landmark, which was purchased by a local developer and hostel owner last November. No new permits have been filed, but worried locals should remember that most of the building is a protected landmark. As always, hit us up on the tipline with any intel.
