Just under a year ago, developer Edward Minskoff appeared to have decided to go ahead with a massive dormitory at 30-30 Northern Boulevard in Long Island City, in a plan that included 1,650 dorm beds, retail, a soccer field, and a basketball court. Turns out there probably won't be 1,650 new college students moving to LIC any time soon. The Real Deal reports that Minskoff, who picked up the site for $15.75 million in 2006, has sold it to Alma Realty for $21.5 million. Alma hasn't yet made plans for the space, but maybe the fact that it's an LIC-based firm means it will have better luck with Community Board 1.
