One of the construction projects being highlighted in the booming growth of the Downtown Brooklyn area is the Brooklyn Academy of Music's new Richard B. Fisher Building at 321 Ashland Place, wedged between current BAM grounds and the towering One Hanson Place/Williamsburgh Bank Building. On its way to becoming theater spaces and offices, the former Salvation Army building is getting a restored facade as well as a rooftop addition designed by H3 Hardy Collaboration Architecture. That modern add-on has now topped out, H3 informs us, and the building is on track for a 2012 opening. Check out the gallery for a look at Fisher's past and future.
