Stalled 40-Story Office Tower Gets a New Lease on Life

New, 2 comments

It's time to remove the Reaper from the case file of 250 West 55th Street, because the never-built office tower that was a casualty of the credit crunch looks like it's back in business. The second biggest piece of news in Lois Weiss's Post column today is that law firm Morrison Foerster has signed a letter of intent to be the Hell's Kitchen/Midtown tower's anchor tenant, making the Boston Properties-developed, SOM-designed glassy giant a "viable project," according to one industry source. The 40-story tower will have 25,000 square feet of restaurants and retail in its base, so cubicle jockeys in the neighborhood might have some new lunch hour options?if the deal gets sealed, of course. Oh, and the biggest piece of news? A broker had Weiss include a marriage proposal at the end of her column. What can we say, we're hopeless romantics!
