The townhouse at 232 West 15th Street recently hit the market for $10.995 million for the second time in three years. It has A) A swimming pool in the living room B) A double-height solarium greenhouse and C) Some sort of medieval weapons museum. For these reasons, you are excused if you didn't also notice that the house's third and fourth floors are separate rental apartments. Now one of them is available for $4,950 per month, starting June 1, and it's...not bonkers at all!
Which isn't to the place isn't snazzy. Here's a description from the City Connections listing: "This Parisian style 2 Bedroom TOWNHOUSE boast a large living room with Skylights, exposed brick, wood burning fireplace, original 1800's wide plank floors, home office, open kitchen w/ dishwasher, king size master bedroom, queen size 2nd bedroom, and private 1100 Sq ft ROOF DECK." But no swimming pools in unusual places? Or outdated tools for killing? For shame. How can we be expected to live in a place like this knowing full well the fun that is being had downstairs?
