Back in snowy January we dared people to enter The Sheffield on West 57th Street, but now the building's scaffolding nightmare is almost over. And when it is, this formerly troubled condo conversion's outdoor features will at last be ready to roll. Delayed due to the Snowpocalypse, the amenities include an ornamental pool, a curvy landscaped plaza and a one-way private driveway (cars will enter from 57th Street and exit at 56th). Originally targeted for completion in 2008, building code changes forced the project into paperwork hell. The Sheffield57 troubles of yore may have had something to do with it, too. But then again, when is construction ever finished on time in this town?
