Another twist in the NYU expansion saga: the State Historic Preservation Office has ruled that NYU's Washington Square Village site is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. This means NYU won't be able to use state or federal money in its plans for the site, but NYU says it's already aware of that fact and it won't affect the plans.
