New 23-Story Hudson Heights Apartment Tower Unfrozen

New, 8 comments

These days it seems like every stalled project is coming back to life, but the reanimation of the corpse called One Bennett Park is still a surprise. Formerly known as Ft. Tryon Tower, the 23-story, 144-unit Washington Heights?sorry, Hudson Heights?condo building stalled after bedrock was noisily blasted out of Overlook Terrace to make room for it. The hole hasn't been touched since 2009, but now work is picking back up again, DNAinfo reports. The fact that it's currently Passover is probably no mere coincidence. A new space in the building was promised to a local Jewish center long ago, so maybe the fed-up congregation decided to finally unleash that plague of frogs on the developer's household.
