The arenafication of Brooklyn continues in the Barclays Center environs, though residents are trying to stop the Players Gastro Pub and Sportsbar from opening at 604 Pacific Street, right across the street from the arena. The venue would have 150 seats and two bars if it proceeds. One angry neighbor at last night's community board meeting expressed concerns about patrons "urinating on our neighborhood," and the proprietors' lawyer responded, "The reality of situation, people are going to open businesses, because of the opportunity to make money, and also can serve your community. What we intend on doing is both." There was no mention of hip-hop, thankfully. [Atlantic Yards Report]
