All we can think about when it comes to the new Flatiron District condo building at 16 West 21st Street is "Judy Jetson meets Morticia Adams meets Liberace meets Mustang Ranch." That's how one Curbed commenter described the Zac Posen-described model unit, which was pretty much the craziest thing ever. Posen consulted on the boutique building's interiors, but for the model, the fashion designer was given the freedom to do whatever he wanted. He even used some art from his personal collection to dress the place up. It's almost one year later and seven of the nine units have sold, including the Posen duplex, which went for $3.825 million. (It was asking $4.1 million). Now one of the sold apartments is back on the market as a rental, and the look is a bit more ready-to-wear.
The building has five 2BR/2BA units, and this one up on the fifth floor sold for $1.52 million in March to Goldcreast Realty Holdings. The asking rent is $7,800 a month for the 1,368-square-foot apartment, down from an initial $7,950 attempt. Check out the floorplan here. Below is how sales have been going so far. The 3BR townhouse-style unit (asking $2.65 million) is in contract, and the penthouse triplex is still up for grabs for $6.15 million. Intel via StreetEasy:
