After battles with the neighbors and the Board of Standards and Appeals, the Finger of Clinton Hill at 163 Washington Avenue almost made it with its plans to finally sell as a condo. Units were even in contract. But then building sales reps informed buyers that the Karl Fischer-designed project had sold and all apartments would be taken off the sales market and deposits returned. The Journal has the rest of the story, which is that a group of real estate investors have purchased the building for $21 million and, after considering the condo option, will be opening it as a rental May 21.
