A zoning error has forced a developer to raze two $1 million houses in his five-home Bronx development. You do hate to see that. The architect's and developer's application to the DOB called for the five homes to be treated as one, but the DOB found they were too close to each and too far back from the street to meet zoning requirements. "I hope this sends a message that no one should try to skirt our local zoning," said a local councilman. Wrecking balls do generally have that effect. [NYP]
