The time draws nearer for Roosevelt Island's retail makeover. Roosevelt Islander notes that the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation approved the lease of all 34 stories along the East Berlin-like Main Street retail strip to a Hudson Companies-Related Companies team. The final contract will take another few weeks, but in the meantime, a study has found that ice cream, seafood, flower, and specialty cheese stores would likely do well in the vacant spots.
