What Future Architects Think Downtown Brooklyn Should Look Like

New, 17 comments

Because the area between Borough Hall and Brooklyn Bridge Park just isn't wacky enough, Borough President Marty Markowitz and the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership recently launched Downtown Brooklyn Commons, inviting a bunch of renderings and animations from architecture and design students at City College, NYC College of Technology, NYU's Polytechnic Institute, and the Pratt Institute of what parkland and open space in the area could look like. Among the ideas: a bikeway for the Brooklyn Bridge?which got Marty talking about aerial bike lanes?gardens at Borough Hall, and a Brooklyn Waterfront Research Center. We gathered some renderings of the students' proposals for the gallery above. What looks good, DoBro?
