MTA's Mulry Square Plans Return; Stringer Wants DSK to Pay City

GREENWICH VILLAGE?The early reviews for the MTA's proposed subway ventilation plant (aka fake townhouse) at Mulry Square were, well, terrible. We haven't seen a rendering more recent than the one from a year ago, but the MTA will be presenting a revised version to Community Board 2's Landmarks Committee next week, according to the latest Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation e-mail blast. The GVSHP hears the MTA has made "slight" revisions, a word that doesn't bode well for the project's opponents. [CurbedWire Inbox]

TRIBECA?With word of Dominique Strauss-Kahn's move to 153 Franklin Street, Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer has become the first to file a press release in response. Says Stringer: "We need to know what taxpayer-funded services are being dedicated to monitoring this man’s every move...I am demanding today that he repay the City for any ancillary costs incurred as a result of his temporary residency in downtown Manhattan.” In other 153 Franklin news, there's actually a lis pendens filing against the property. That's the first step toward foreclosure, but the issue isn't financial: a neighbor was allegedly using the roof illegally. [CurbedWire Inbox]
