Community Board 13 has been tossing around proposals to remake the Coney Island boardwalk, covering it with a 12- or 16-foot concrete strip. After Community Board 13's parks committee endorsed a 12-foot concrete strip earlier this month, the full board went the other way in a vote this week. The city might go ahead with the concrete anyway, but maybe opponents can argue it should stay like it is in the movie. [NYDN]
