Almost six months after the death of owner Elaine Kaufman, famed Upper East Side restaurant Elaine's closed its doors in the early hours of this morning. The Times has the full roster of boldface names in attendance, plus some of the stories of fights and romantic meetings that happened at the restaurant over the years. What will happen to the restaurant next is unclear, but its two Second Avenue buildings are still for sale. [NYT]
