As far as Carroll Gardens brownstones go, 132 Second Place has never been anything too fancy. But it had some nice original details intact, and the owners hoped to improve on them with a major renovation in 2005. Too bad that's not quite how things worked out. Instead, as Pardon Me for Asking explains, the owners were hit with DOB violations and stop-work orders. Then the house got new owners...and the back wall of the house collapsed into a neighboring yard. This year, the stoop was removed. The latest addition to the house's troubles? What PMFA calls the "unsightly" cinderblock wall, above, going up where there used to be a fence around the front yard. The moat's coming next, right?
