The latest twist in the saga of the changing tax assessments that raised the value of co-ops and condos by up to 147 percent: the city's tax commissioner told the City Council he had no idea just how high the tax increases would turn out to be. Whoops! Increases on co-op and condo taxes are now capped at 50 percent as a result of taxpayer outcry, though folks hadn't finished complaining about it as of yesterday. [NYP]
