MEPA/CHELSEA?Looks like the condos are a-comin' at 345 West 14th Street, where Jay-Z and Andre Balazs attempted to build a hotel before the bust ruined those plans. DDG Partners' plans for a new 11-story building were revealed last year, and a tipster reports that the old buildings currently on the site are getting cleared out something fierce these days. A whole bunch of shoring and sidewalk shed and other permits have recently been filed with the Buildings Department. [CurbedWire Inbox]

MEPA/CHELSEA?Busy day in MePaChelseaville! Remember the bonkers plan to build a hotel and new offices above the historic Chelsea Market? It's still kicking around, and today a coalition of community groups will show up at a Community Board 4 meeting tonight to speak out against Jamestown Properties's plan. We could get into the minutiae of why they oppose the plan, but c'mon, just look at it. [CurbedWire Inbox]

CHINATOWN?An interesting commercial real estate deal just went down: United American Land, the Laboz family firm, acquired the mortgage and deed on 408 Broadway (the home of Spin magazine) for $28.7 million. The Laboz brothers developed the celeb-heavy Soho Mews on West Broadway and have been behind many of the recent changes at the Fulton Mall in Brooklyn. They plan to upgrade the 70,000-square-foot building and keep it commercial. [CurbedWire Inbox]
