Port Authority Will Soon Look Like Your Windows '95 Screen Saver

New, 2 comments

The Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown will never be confused with Grand Central, but that doesn't mean this aesthetically challenged focal point of New York City can't shine! And shine, it will. The Architects Newspaper reports that by the end of June, the terminal's facade will be wrapped in 6,000 square feet of steel fabric embedded with LEDs. The technology, called Mediamesh, allows images to wrap around buildings without being visible to those looking out from inside. The Port Authority will probably use the technology to display ads, but check out all the totally rad graphics Mediamesh is capable of. Rain drops! Floating fireballs! But can you play Minesweeper on it?
