With rent regulations set to expire next week, the Post hears that debates on the subject in Albany might be extended. So far, the governor and legislators have failed to reach an agreement on whether the rent laws should simply be extended or whether protections for tenants should be increased. One past suggestion: that the deregulation threshold be raised to a monthly rent of $3,000 and a tenant income of at least $300,000. [NYP]
