We're still recovering from 263 Bowery (right), the small but, uh, noticeable Karl Fischer creation. Which makes this news all the harder to deal with: folks, the Montreal barfitect is taking another swing at the Bowery. The Observer reports that developer Shaky Cohen of 263 Bowery fame has paid $5.5 million for 255 Bowery. He has in mind a seven-story building?two floors of retail plus five residential floors with a total of four or five units?designed by Hot Karl, with construction to start in about five months.
Cohen tells the Observer the design of 255 will be different from 263 Bowery, but that doesn't exactly put our fears to rest. Say hello to Karl Fischer Row 2.0?
