Fresh Chelsea Market Rendering Stokes Fears

New, 28 comments

Ever since the Chelsea Market expansion was announced in March it's been, at the very least, controversial. Nobody has been ruffled more than neighborhood preservationists and activists who have called it "insane" among other things which use some more colorful language. And now, the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation is once again urging locals to vote against the rezoning of the Market, spurred on by the latest rendering of the 300,000 square foot glassy tumor revealed by Jamestown properties. This time we can see what it looks like from behind! As we'd expected, there isn't an ounce of pretty added with the new rendering. Nothing more to see here, still ugly.
