The building at 396 Broadway (right) has been vacant for four years, ever since an earlier plan to sell the building fell through. But never count a Tribeca loft building out, especially not one owned by members of the Chetrit family. There are big plans for this one, and the Post has the deets. The building will become a 52-unit luxury rental, with apartments of studio size and up and an amenities line-up that includes a doorman, valet, and lobby fridges. The whole thing is set to hit the market in fall 2012 and will be designed by?brace?Gene Kaufman, now of Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman & Associates. No word on pricing yet, or on whether the Gwathmey Siegel side of things will have any aesthetic influence.
