If you're a studio-dweller like me, I highly recommend paved parks so you leave with a cleaner pet. The Leroy Street Dog Run on the Hudson River Park is great. Benefits: clean, has running water in the warmer months with two doggie pools, benches are half in the shade/half in the sun, beautiful view of the Hudson River, and the walk to/from the park is quite pleasant. Bonus: you can grab a coffee at Organicoa, WHERE THEY GIVE ALL DOGS TREATS.
