Apple's Cube Getting Redone; Soho Street Cleaning Ending

New, 7 comments

And now, the latest from Racked NY, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) Midtown East: Why is the Apple store in a full body cast? The company's Fifth Avenue flagship is under the knife for a nearly $7 million renovation. Stay glassy, friend.

2) Soho: While the Apple Store gets cleaned up, Broadway in Soho is getting dirtier, because chain stores there have not donated enough funds to keep the street cleaning program running.

3) FiDi: J&R Music and Computer World recently petitioned Community Board 1 to rename the store's block of Park Row J&R Way for marketing purposes. CB 1 gave the idea the thumbs-down, but the store plans to keep working on the City Council to get approval.
