Dream Dowtown Pool Revealed; West Village Tree War Escalates

This week's top dish from Eater NY, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

1) MePa: That? Is the pool lounge at the Dream Downtown Hotel. It's located on the lobby roof between the hotel's two towers, which means folks in the lobby can see the pool through the ceiling. Have another look.

2) MePa: Speaking of wacky ideas being realized in MePa, there's GunBar, now open on Gansevoort Street. As the name hints, it's a bar with a tattoo parlor. Risky, risky move.

3) West Village: A tree went missing outside new French restaurant Lyon, and neighbors blamed the owner for cutting it down to make room for a sidewalk cafe. In reality, the city cut the tree down because it was dying, but that hasn't stopped a neighborhood controversy.

4) LES: If you're planning to damage a bicycle with a truck and get away with it, don't do it in front of Schiller's.
