The granite paving stone and light post revelations at Washington Square Park had to end sometime, and that time is now. Washington Square Park Blog reports that the eastern side of the park has officially reopened. Oh, happy day! But at Washington Square Park, there are always gripes. One parkgoer told Runnin' Scared that the park benches have fewer slats than they used to. A travesty! This part of the park encompasses only phase one of the promised Phase II renovations, with the rest supposedly opening soon.
