There's nothing like art in parks to inspire protests, and the subject of yesterday's protest at Central Park's Bethesda Fountain was quiet zones, the areas of the park where singing and instrument-playing are now banned. There are eight quiet zones?making up about five percent of the park?including Strawberry Fields. Musicians who disobey the ban are ticketed. The musicians' protest song of choice: "Ave Maria."
