Developer Aby Rosen opted not to buy the Hotel Chelsea, but he is the new owner of the Paramount Hotel. He'll be paying $275 million for the landmarked building, which had a $40 million renovation in 2009. Even with the renovation, which upgraded the lobby and brought in the Paramount Bar, the hotel has a few quirks compared to its boutique hotel brethren, like charges for mini-fridges.
